its certainly an odd feeling to be able to copy-paste a blogpost URL into the search bar and then instantly get a native post to boost
its a good feeling, fwiw, and tbh im very happy what it could mean for web interoperability, TRUE web interoperability
like.... sure, we share links, and then some websites (social media, facebook, twitter) then try to enhance that experience by turning those links into cards, previews, etc.
but what I have never experienced, is being able to treat webpages, chunks of websites, as native posts to boost
and with AP, this just becomes a standard anyone can hook into, your blogpost now has been published to anyone who follows you, its boostable, fetchable, you can grab the URL and then put it in the search bar, and just... yeah
idk, i love it lots, it kinda makes me tear up a little, fwiw
@ShadowJonathan is this a hypotethical near-future thing? how viable would it be to host a blog on activitypub right now?
@celestia very viable, wordpress has support for it, any DIY blog engine would need support for it, but i'd say the implementations for it are only becoming more and more
@ShadowJonathan cool! not a big fan of wordpress but I'll do some more digging!
maybe it's time for my blog to leave the comfort of the eternal backlog and become a thing...
@banaanihillo @celestia @ShadowJonathan I think I've already seen blog posts here, and the toot answers appeared like comments on the blog page.
