Greetings, Fediverse! Let me make an - I'm Emily, a recently out girl, advocate, and giant nerd.

This is a personal account, but since 2017 I've been working at as a writer and occasional host. I'm most well-known for and / content, but my interests can be very broad - Especially with stuff I know nothing about!

Tech can be fun and tech can be a tool, and to that end, I advocate using (and breaking) every platform and learning about the days of computers past. Between work and home, I currently daily drive and in roughly equal measure.

I was a kid, so that probably had something to do with that philosophy... And my fondness for FM synth.

@emilyyoung What is it about us Sega kids that makes us such nerds? I was part of the nascent Sonic community in the early 2000s and the hacking scene was so involved!

@SierraDelacroix ayyy that's where I spent a lot of my early internet days in the early 2000s too. I still remember people getting stoked to try the Sonic Adventure 2 demo included with Phantasy Star Online

@emilyyoung @SierraDelacroix SA2 may or may not have formed 90% of my personality (and still does lmao)

Public

@lightning The amount of times I quote SA2 in a given day would lead me to believe I'm in a similar boat, haha

Public

@emilyyoung Yeah!! I remember all the speculation about Shadow, excitement that "Dark Side" meant we got to play as Eggman... meanwhile the Sonic Stuff Research Group was hacking away at ROMs. It was an exciting time!
