@aetios this had me in tears of laughter while waiting for the delivery of this very overpowerd mini-pc that's going to be the off-site node for my backups at my sister's house ...
Hey it was cheaper than building it with a Raspberry PI 5 16GB
@aetios
it's this little beast Intel N150 so x64 2.5 GBit Ethernet
I went for the 16GB + 1TB SSD version
should be here in a day or 3
@aetios no aditional storage as of yet.
If I had to I would add a 2242 m.2 sata as system drive and replace the NVME SSD with something bigger.
I however will test it with a 8TB XPG S70 BLADE that I have for a couple more days before it's going out and if I would need spinning rust I know that the ICY Box JBOD USB 3 enclosers works great. had one running on a pi 4 for 5 years in 4 x 8TB HDD config with snapraid without a hitch and the 5 bay ORICO one works as well both use the JMS567 SATA to USB bridge chip.
@aetios so the NucBox 3 Plus arrived yesterday but I had no time to check it out other than to quickly check if it detects a 8TB NVME SSD and it does. The 8 TB XPG S70 BLADE I tested with was recognized. I sadly couldn't run any more tests with it as the owner needed it early this morning.
It was as fast as you can go with 2 PCIe 3.0 Lanes so roughly double the speed of a Pi 5 with NVME head and the same SSD.
RAM is DDR 4 3200
The NIC (RTL8852BE) delivers full 2.5 GBit
The Included drive is DREM less
