finally made the switch to Linux
with Proton existing I couldn't find a reason not to anymore. got myself a Samsung EVO 2tb ssd, installed Mint, and have been enjoying myself for the past week.
my games actually run pretty good, tho I get some dropped frames here or there. if anyone has any tips on that, please let me know! im on an intel & nvidia setup. honestly it could just be time to upgrade my gpu tho, she's old
also, what does everyone recommend for browser? I've given Icecat a try and I like it well enough, seems to block a lot of tracking junk. but I've seen talk of being able to just modify Firefox to stop it from doing all that too.
there's a lot of information built up over the years and it's hard to sift through as a new user, so any tips are welcome
@terrasalix Hi, happy you're exploring Linux ^•^
I don't have any tips for your dropped frames, beside the typical - check if you installed newest drivers and do some benchmarks to check if it is similar to Windows
As for a web browser, well... I use Firefox, but I've got mixed opinions of it
There's Zen Browser, which is based on Firefox, but has more features - you can test it if you want :>
@J0S3PH I'll take a look! Thanks :3
