Saying we don't need writers or artists because of GPT/AI/etc is like saying we don't need scientists because of Wikipedia.
Edit for clarity: WIkipedia doesn't do any research, it just has articles based on research by existing researchers. GPT etc don't create anything, they just have images/text/etc based on work by existing artists/writers. However, whereas Wikipedia credits its sources, GPT etc hide their sources and pretend they created things from scratch.

Well, there's that, but also that Wikipedia doesn't actually do any research. It just collects together the work that other people have done.
But Wikipedia is up front about being a secondary source, and has clear links to its sources. GPT etc pretend they are inventing stuff from scratch and don't credit any of their sources.
