I can't stress enough how important it is to see happy trans/queer/nb/LGBTQ+ people on social media.
People who are happy to be who they are.
It's not about denying the threats and discrimination, it's about showing people that our identity is a source of joy 'despite' all we have to go through.
I wish I could thank all the people on Mastodon who showed me all the different ways to be happy as a trans person. When I came out I still thought I had to follow certain rules to be a 'proper' trans person (after all, that's what I'd been told to do as a cis woman).
Now I know there's no good or bad way to be trans, nb or queer as long as you're enjoying being yourself and I have to thank all the people who are brave enough to put themselves out publicly for that.
