Since I migrated I should post a new I suppose?

Hi! I'm Tam. I'm a 40 year old trans woman working in IT. I've been married to my lovely wife since 2003 and we're poly. I consider myself a Gray Ace Lesbian.

I've found my love of Star Trek again and I've been dabbling in 3d printing and some "casual cosplay" like in my avatar. I love video games, though I talk about them more than I play them.

I decided to move here in light of recent goings-on with Twitter.

Nice to meet you!

Video cards are finally in a space I could spend money on one... but at this point I have a Switch and an Xbox Series S AND I play fewer games than ever before.

So WHY do I want one so bad? FOMO? Addiction? There's something very very strong calling for it when I have absolutely *zero need* for one.

And yay! Joining the shelf (which needs to be redone...): Kamen Rider OOO himself, Eiji Hino. 😎

I can't remember if I tooted about it. But I was given an Amazon gift card for doing extra work on Saturday. I knew exactly what I was going to spend it on.

begpost, asking for small amount, boosts appreciated

Hello everyone. So my Ehvi and I have been taking NADH + CoQ10 to help manage symptoms it has been a tremendous help. We are out and have no means to replace it, so I'm asking for donations to get a supply built back up. I need at least $30.54 to get it. I am currently still out of a job and Ehvi is permanently disabled.

Thank you.

My friend, who is fully vaxxed and masks in public, just tested positive for COVID-19 today.

Everyone talks about "the pandemic" like it's over. But more and more and more people I know are testing positive.

It's scary. It's just this thing like, "Oh well. At least you'll live," right? I'm convinced now more than ever if there WAS a zombie outbreak we'd be expected to just... live with it and keep driving to work.

Be the gay you wish to see in the world. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Switch uses an Nvidia SoC, why not use DSR? -- because it requires dedicated hardware, while AMD's FSR is a software solution that can work on (theoretically) any discreet GPU.

Show thread

I hope Nintendo (and Epic?) integrate AMD's FSR 2.0 tech into their Switch game dev sdk.

I'm very curious to see what could be done on Switch using FSR 2.0.

Also, it seems it's coming to the Xbox Series dev kit... neat!

privacy / gossip / uspol

To be more clear, if someone tells you they missed their period, and then a month later they haven't said anything, gossiping to others that they might be expecting isn't just rude any more. It can cost people their freedom.

Show thread

I Haven't slept yet because I got little Caesars' quite late and my stomach said greasy pizza with floppy dough + diet Pepsi = bloating, cramps & violently passing watery matter out of my backside about once every half hour.

I'm regretting a lot of things.

uspol, roe v wade fallout

...As a trans woman married to a cis woman, I have to think hard about whether to change my gender marker now. There's no way they don't come after queer marriage next.

Handle grief and outrage in your own way. But saying now isn't the time to use cw / content warnings is ignoring the very reason they exist.

Just... throwing that idea out there. We have to support the hurting.

uspol, us supreme court, biden

Boy, I'm sure real glad Biden didn't stack the Supreme Court with liberal justices, huh??

medical procedure, uspol

So the day Roe vs Wade was evidently overturned, I joined my cis wife at her OBGYN visit and she's getting her fallopian tubes completely removed in the near future.

She's doing a little wiggle dance in front of me she's so excited to be sterilized.

The first computer I actually *gamed* on belong to a friend of my mom's. He had a US Commodore 64, with a floppy drive. I have memories of playing a lot of Spy Hunter, and EA's Wizard. (Which I later found out was a Jumpman clone.)

What was everyone's first computer?

My first exposure to a PC was through my Papaw, who worked for AT&T in Florida. He brought home a TRS-80 Model 1 microcomputer, and wrote a little BASIC program that flashed, "Hello {dead name}!" in random places.

Is there a Masto instance specifically for indie game creators? Like a social branch of itch?

I'm extremely curious about this physical version of No Man's Sky on Switch.

There's no way it looks good or runs well, is there?
