Walking around in my kitchen trying out my new Augmented Reality system and I see my neighbor in his back yard, I quietly slink back out of view.

Watching someone using libraries & APIs you wrote yourself on stream is a bit like watching a horror movie.

I'm constantly yelling at the screen, "NO! NO! Don't go in there!"

Put in a ton of work the past few days getting my workspace and work computer set up, finally hit the power switch and I get BIOS beeps. I know roughly what the problem is, and I'll be fine for my first day on Monday, but it's still frustrating to have things go off the rails at the last step.

Underestimated tools on Linux. Screen. Watch. The Pipe. #justsayin. Running mysqldump -u MYSQL_USERNAME -p YOUR_DATABASE | gzip -c | ssh USERNAME@YOUR_TO_HOST 'cat > ~/dump.sql.gz' in a detached screen session as we speak :)
