imo we should boycott the 2026 football world cup because of the hosting country's countless human rights violations

just reviewed a C++ patch with a really actually completely 100% justified "const volatile" thing in it.
where should the author and I collect our prizes.

I demand to know who is responsible for this connector. show yourselves, you cowards.

Just had to block a "women in coding" account for propping blockchain scams. Like, I get it, if you want to waste your life savings and pump out CO₂ in order to make someone else rich for no reason, that's one thing.

If you prey on marginalized people to fuel your scam? No.

Ok so because of #pridemonth you're gonna see a lot of rainbow logos.

However let's shout out the studios we know that do better/more than just change their logo.

Hi fediverse! Boosts appreciated on this one.

I’m part of a co-op building a platform for artists to sell art without getting exploited. I’ve been working on it for a while but there’s a lot of work to do and I could use some help. A ton of the main features are in place, but there’s still some big gaps and a lot of polish left before it can launch.

The platform is fully open source and developed in the open. It’s built on Phoenix/Elixir and Tailwindcss. Our co-op is already incorporated and established and it’s open to members that want to actually commit but you don’t need to be a member to contribute or help.

Does this sound interesting? I’d love some help! I’m also happy to answer questions. And no, you don’t need to know Elixir already. It’s pretty easy to learn for the things you’d be using it for. Even some design help would be welcome. Feel free to reply here or DM me!

honestly feel sick right now, just learnt about the websites scihub, libgen, and b-ok which I heard can be used to access information free of charge! please make sure to stay away from these sites and make sure to tell your friends so they can stay away too :02_peek:

So, people say you should apply for jobs you're not qualified for, and that ... to me that smells a lot like "github is your resume", advice born of relative privilege that isn't really meaningful to anyone who isn't.

That doesn't necessarily make it bad advice, but not for those reasons. Just that it's a mistake to think of a job as-described as something you're either qualified for or not.

Hey, you.

👉 You are worthy of love. 👈

Every day. Up days. Down days. In bed days. In the street days. In the gutter days. On the moon days.

👉 You are worthy of love every dang day. 👈

Yes, you.

"Pirate site blocking making its way into free trade agreements"

This is much more serious than "can I get a pirated copy of something". The real effects of stuff like this is control, censorship, and gatekeeping of the internet in general.

A year-long search for a lost video game pioneer comes to a happy conclusion today.

It is our honor and privilege to introduce you to Van Mai, the innovator who brought female representation to home video games 40 years ago.

Very few of the features I've worked on have ever gotten their own blog posts, so it's nice that this feature getting a bit of recognition here is one I'm particularly happy with.
