hrmmm. i got plasma-desktop running on wayland but the cursor is very laggy, and leaves a trail behind when moving. it's basically unusable.
basically unusable is of course the default state of wayland
@wyatt8740 I found ditching heavy desktop envs like GNOME and Plasma for small ones like niri has made wayland more pleasant. Also having xwayland-satellite as a backup for apps that don't have wayland suppport.
@mauve I use FVWM already and see nothing compelling in any wayland compositors by comparison to how much control FVWM gives me
@wyatt8740 Probably not worth switching if you're happy with your current setup. I only switched because I was sick of GTK and KDE taking too many system resources. I think there's tools for bundling wayland apps into x11 windows out there too.
