My best friend is responsible for both of these. The modem works (150baud) though it needs a few capacitors replaced.

@pfriedma 150 baud! And I though my first us robotix modem was slow at 33.6k! I love seeing old tech 😍

@pfriedma totally practical idea: an acoustic coupler modem that would accept a modern smartphone so you can retrocompute on the go (not sure what modern voice compression algorithms would do for the connection, though!)

@alex I swear I saw an artist (maybe from Birdsite?) do a smart phone acoustic coupling modem render a few years back.
Funny enough, if I turn my phone volume up loud enough, it will work as is. I've got an asterisk voip set-up with extensions that emulate bell102. One number opens BBC in 'wc', for example.
