anyone have any recommendations for linux distros that are very similar to Fedora but don't break my system in a different way every other time i update packages?

Public

@ieatbeees Rocky Linux? They offer 10 years of support, and only backport security fixes after 5 years of active support. dnf feels the same, and it should be a very stable experience.

@ieatbeees fedora silverblue

@ieatbeees I’ve never used Fedora, so I don’t know what all is similar to it. But NixOS can be configured with the right packages to feel similar to basically any distro, and NixOS is super stable and easy to unbreak. Also, NixOS is super fun, and its novel new approach can change your outlook on operating systems!

@ieatbeees Bluefin is pretty great.

@ieatbeees i'd say arch because i dont see one having any issues with updates on arch's stable repos but thats probably not an option for u

@ieatbeees

Anything Arch based.
Endeavor OS perhaps. Raw Arch might be too close to the metal.

@ieatbeees I never hear problems from the OpenSuSE users. For one I've used myself a good deal, you could look at Mageia. Can't have updates break your system if you don't get updates, and it can use coprs as well, and mcc/rpmdrake are both really good tools.

@ieatbeees honestly fedora has been the most stable for me out of the distros ive tried, but then again i primarily use flatpaks

what kind of issues have you been having? maybe there's something within fedora you can tweak to fix it
