New cast on: completed an inch and a half of twisted ribbing for a new hat (of a pattern I have knitted before).

The pattern is Alfajor by Lisa R. Myers and it's using this Shibui Knits Pebble yarn (made with recycled silk, merino, and cashmere) in color "Ash" that has a very "soft but nubbly" texture that was given to me as a gift.

This time instead of slightly larger needles, I am using the original needles, and the yarn seems thinner than the Manos Del Uruguay Serena yarn the pattern calls-for... So this will probably be gifted to someone with a less big head than me... Hopefully bigger than child-sized, but we'll see.

If you want to see the other Alfajor hat I did with the Manos Del Uruguay Serena yarn in color "Sea Urchin" here is the link to that thread:

More of the Alfajor hat in Ash Shibui Knits Pebble: I started the pattern, then realized I was short several stitches, so I frogged back to the cast on, triple checked the stitch counts re-knit the ribbing, triple checked again, knit the increase round, one more triple check... and then did the first (of three) pattern repeats.

Finished the Alfajor hat using Shibui Knits Pebble in the color "Ash"

The yarn seems thinner than the Manos Del Uruguay Serena yarn the pattern calls-for and I used the recommended needle size, So this will probably be gifted to someone with a less big head than me.

Many thanks to my long suffering but cute dog, Cairo, for modeling.

@epilonious I love that yarn. Too bad Shibui closed.

@epilonious OMG Ilove Shibui, and your hat too! Pebbe looks really great knit with their mohair. So sad they closed.

@epilonious Love your model! Such eyes!
I do the same with mine, but find my furry critters suit any hat better than they suit me XD
