I would think it raised a chuckle once 26 years ago and now it's kept for historic reasons. I thought I find something on the Wikipedia-article about this controversy but there is nothing. Do you have a source please?

@jackeric @kkavee @tankgrrl @crowbriarhexe @petrillic And they have an army of sealions (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealioning) and/or bots who follow around any mention of this topic trying to have a "debate." I do understand that those who do not live in English-dominant countries might not be familiar with the term the first time they hear about it; it can be hard to tell if someone is genuinely curious or if they're sealioning.
