I just had an appointment with my endocrinologist, which went very differently to what I was expecting. In particular, she prescribed me testosterone. Now, I know cis women have it too, but the idea of deliberately giving myself my nemesis is quite squicky.

Do you think it might help with the mood levels?

Public
@lnr [sunny.garden] I don’t know about that. The aim is to maybe boost my mostly zero libido and improve my sexual response. I will probably be more TMI when I have more time.
Public
@lnr [sunny.garden] Broadly, unless I don’t take my antidepressants for a couple of days, I find I don’t get turned on very much or for very long, and sensations around my vagina, clit, and tits are very muted. Orgasm consists of little more than thigh cramps. This feels unsatisfactory

@ajlanes @lnr This is a pretty well known side effect of some SSRIs, though, isn't it? I realise that endo's might tend to prescribe from a limited pallette, but I do wonder if they prescribe T for cis women in your situation? Maybe they do. Either way, that might be an interesting data-point.

Public
@chiffchaff [tech.lgbt] @lnr [sunny.garden] Yes, it is, and the endo said she did prescribe it for cis women for the same reasons

@ajlanes @lnr To mention that also suggests she's kind of empathetic for a doctor (I have a very low bar). So that's a good sign!

@chiffchaff [tech.lgbt] @lnr [sunny.garden] She is awesome and Irish and swears a lot.
