@catdad The first pie graph in the bottom middle* is me. People forget this.

*Didn't see/read the legend/mixed them up.

Public

@rpagan Facts! All bisexual.

Public

@catdad I’m the one at the bottom, but since I married a guy, people assume I’m straight or *maybe* the one to the left of the bottom center.

Public

@writerethink I have a friend who is very similar! She originally identified as a lesbian but then later came out again as a bisexual. Although she mostly prefers women, she just so happened to meet a guy she was interested in and they have been dating for years now!

Public

@catdad@tech.lgbt That looks like me throughout one day.

Public

@bryan I feel you lol

Public

@catdad Oooooh, pie charts! I think of apple pie when I hear about them. Yea! Good for my bisexual friends.

Public

@catdad

Thank you! As a Demisexual I’m rarely attracted to anyone but when I am the gender of the person is not a factor but because I’m so rarely attracted to anyone it can feel like I ‘don’t count’.

Public

@catdad "Goodness, look at the time! It's bisexual o'clock!"

Public

@catdad@tech.lgbt
Isn't bisexuality more like 50% and 50%?
I always assumed there were other terms for different amounts of interest to other genders.
Like for example finsexual, which is what I feel I am, is attraction to femininity regardless of biological sex or identified gender.
So I like feminine looking guys but wouldn't go with a masculine looking one.
Does that still count? And if that also falls under the bisexual category, is there a term for someone who is attracted to men and women equally?

Public

@raccoon Bisexuality is attraction to the same gender and other genders, to any degree. It’s not just 50/50, but it can be that way for some people.

It sounds like your sexuality, “finsexual”, can fall under the “bisexual” umbrella. Or if you want to be more specific you can say it falls under “pansexual”, since pansexual means “attraction to people regardless of gender” and you are attracted to people’s femininity regardless of their gender. I’m attracted to all genders but I don’t identify as “pansexual” because my attraction can vary depending on gender. Hope that makes sense, I’m not the best at explaining this stuff lol.

Regardless, it’s semantics. All these terms overlap, you can use pretty much any of them and it would be accurate. There’s also no need to pick a super specific label for your sexuality if it’s too much pressure or too much to think about. You can easily say “I like feminine people of all genders” and I’m sure most people would know what you mean. 👍

@catdad Thank you for posting this ❤️ :bisexual_flag:

@catdad@tech.lgbt I'm blue pacman, tag yourselves

Public

@miles @catdad@tech.lgbt Blue pacman gang :3

Public

@catdad hmm. Real question: I assume my attraction to same gender to maximum of 10%. Generally, I go through life identifying as heterosexual.

Shoul I change that to bi?

Public

@pavel It’s all up to you! I’m a bit biased as a bisexual myself, I’m very inclined to say “yes, you should” lol. But it’s entirely your decision to make, nobody else’s. If you feel most comfortable identifying as heterosexual then that’s fine. But given you have attraction to the same gender and other genders, you could very well identify as bisexual if you wanted to. No shame either way. Choose whatever label feels right to you, it’s your life/identity. 👍

Public

@catdad to be honest, it kinda feels to me as if I am invading a safe space where I do not belong. "Some men look cute, though" does not feel "bisexual" to me. Especially when being (happily) in marriage

Thanks for the insight. I will keep referring to self as hetero

Public

@catdad with the proper bi colors 🌈

> The pink color represents sexual attraction to the same sex only (gay and lesbian). The blue represents sexual attraction to the opposite sex only (straight) and the resultant overlap color purple represents sexual attraction to both sexes (bi).

Public

@catdad After seeing this diagram, I believe that we also need a 'pacmansexual' category, which is where your pattern of same-sex/opposite-sex attraction varies over the course of your lifetime. Or over a week, or a twenty-four hour period. Whatever.

Also, pacmansexuals tend to be continuously pursued by the ghosts of four kinds of desire, all trying their best to consume them. It's a stressful way to live.

Quiet public

@catdad I’m pottessexual - I’m attracted to people based on their boots. :)

Public

@catdad Yayyy I am too ^^

Public

@catdad So you are not a minority, you are a majority!!
