Ivory currently is based off of Tweetbot which is built upon the notion that posts have unique numeric ID's. Any system that uses alphanumeric ID's currently just don't work in Ivory on a technical level. We have to put a lot of time to get that to work correctly and we will be looking into it when we do have more time.

It makes no sense just to limit our app to Mastodon if it was easy to allow other services to work. The fact is, we just don't have the time and resources to fix every problem at once. We have a million things on our plate and only 1 developer that can work on these things. All we want to do is make the best product we can that as many people possible can enjoy using it. But it's going to take us time.

And as already pointed out in this thread, the reason stuff doesn't work with Ivory is because they falsely assume id's are stringified ints, which is not the mastodon spec, so while all of these work on many other mastodon apps, they don't work on ivory
