What the difference between blocked and limited?

"Limited" or "silenced" means the instance is muted, but users can still follow accounts on it, and it remains federated
@ophiocephalic @arthunter @FediPact I think having threads limited is better. We have good and funny folks there whom we could follow while having others muted.
@minneyar@fuzzyfox.social@arthunter@mastodon.world @FediPact@tech.lgbt If a server is limited (aka "silenced" in older versions of Mastodon and other Fediverse software), posts from it do not appear in federated timelines. Users on the limited instance can only DM users who are following them or send follow requests. It effectively makes any communication with the limited instance require consent from local users.

Also arent they not even actually on activitypub (yet)?

also they have, i believe, added something called "one-way federation", meaning they basically get to spam the shit out of every instance that hasn't defederated them, but we can't do anything back.
@santiago@masto.lema.org@FediPact @cadusilva That’s a good thing. I hesitate to block them from my instance. I am alone (with personal bots) and manually approve follows. Not sure it’ll change anything ?

@FediPact oh I so hope this goes through. Trying to get @endeavorance on board as he's the one running my instance. Screw meta and these big companies. They're why we ran from them to the fediverse. They wasted their time to fix this stuff for years and ran out of chances imo.

@FediPact I bet the actual number's higher too. Most instances that are setup to be private enough for people not to be able to get this data from are likely to be blocking facebook too I reckon?
