The funny part is that I learned how to mod the game because I wanted to make one single change (making FP regenerate over time). But then my eyes opened to the possibilities, and now here we are 5 version updates later.

I started doing some minor modding a few weeks ago (first time modding any game) and somehow I keep coming up with more things I want to do? And enjoying the creative process?? I'm almost scared of how much sustained motivation I've had, usually projects implode by now.

Trying to make sure I keep enjoying the process and don't burn out. Just things.

Some people need more space than others. Some people aren't aware they need space at all. Everyone needs space. YOU need space. How much and at what times varies.

When a person isn't given space when they need it, they can lash out. This is universal. Kids need space. Teens need space. Adults and seniors need space. Denying them that right is at best, ignorant, and at worst, manipulative - you know how they're going to react.

They're going to get angry, they may get violent, they may say things they don't mean to say. This post isn't trying to excuse saying or doing hurtful or mean things. But I'm trying to explain that if you deny someone their space, you're setting up this kind of reaction.

Think: is what you're doing really so important that you're willing to jeopardize a relationship?

Sometimes it definitely is. But sometimes it isn't. Keep that in consideration.

There are basically two kinds of programming:
1. Creating new capabilities
2. Gluing existing capabilities together

There's a lot more of the latter that needs to be done.

i really love when people can post mundanely about life

just kind of grateful we can occupy a space where it's not about trying to entertain each other

like, on rare occasions, i'll see complaints about that kind of thing on twitter or whatever, but like, i actually kind of do care if you're learning to make meatloaf and it feels worth saying once in a while that it's good to have a casual atmosphere in which you can just exist
