Figuring out if I want to hop onto a #writefreely instance already going, or run one myself for posting my writing.

There's a bunch of masto-like packages that are made for single-user instances, anything like that for writefreely? Trying to avoid anything as complicated to keep running as #mastodon.

@ubergeek I've been going back and forth between the idea of a second Fediverse account on something like , firing up my own instance of something (maybe , it has decent integrations), or just firing up an website with blog and microblog capabilities and using fed.brid.gy. I did look at implementing AP myself, but it's fiddly and I don't have the time.

The next year is going to bring many such opportunities like this, as more commercial and open source apps embrace ActivityPub. There’s a wide open opportunity for easy-to-host, single-user blog/Fediverse/etc apps out there that’s going to be filled. I’m working on #Emissary (emissary.social) that is not yet ready for prime time but will fit this situation perfectly. And, there will be many others that join the party as well 🎉 @strangetomato @ubergeek
