installing nextcloud (via docker) was much easier than we expected! let's hope we won't forget to maintain it though :blobcatsweat:

(the previous nextcloud install completely broke because we didn't read the documentation and updated two major versions ahead at once. woops)

@whiskahs i see nothing wrong here, there can't be any bugs if there isn't any code to begin with!

Self care tip: take some time to enjoy the schadenfreude of the NFT market collapsing

just restarted a project for the like, fourth time because we keep trying out different frontend libraries :blobcatsweat:
really hope we'll stick with it because i'm getting kinda tired of rewriting the backend, lmao
(but at least we get to apply everything we learned in the four-ish months since we started the last iteration! it's not all bad)

@prehensile while it's not phishing, we *have* heard of spammers sending fake newsletters, with the "unsubscribe" link marking your email address as real and a target for more spam

(don't have a source for this, sadly, can't remember where i read it :pensive_cowboy:)

like, ah yes, the three main things i can do with a toot:
- crescent moon in box it
- boost it
- favourite it

(legit have no idea what the first icon is :thonking: it's *supposed* to be the reply button though)

blocking remote fonts by default really makes you appreciate buttons with icons *and* text (even if it's just hover text)

I'm pleased to note that even, my Mastodon server where the only letter you are allowed to post is "e", has seen increased activity in the last few days.

Thanks Eeeeelon!

@AutumnMeowMeow i wouldn't exactly call this "good" code anyway, but yeah, it really is bullshit

at this point we should probably give up and just use dokuwiki instead, but we're stubborn and won't :D
wouldn't want to waste 2000+ lines of perfectly good spaghetti after all

i'm trying to work on a project we haven't touched in a while but... none of the code is commented and it's been 4 months

:tiredcat2: this is why you're supposed to comment code, huh? finding out the hard way

Hi everyone! I'm Mane (aka m4ndrill), a freelance 3D artist mainly focused on beautiful world of voxels. I love checking out new social media places, so here I am.

Also posting one of the voxel pieces I especially enjoyed modeling.

hi, we're the starshines! (our collective name, and the one we'll use here, is sam)
we're plural--if you don't know what that is, check out! it explains it better than we ever could

we mostly program in go, and sometimes try (and fail) to use dart/flutter and javascript
we're also chronic distro hoppers (please send help)

not actually migrating from twitter, we just got reminded mastodon exists because of it :3
