I. fucking. hate. hiring managers. fucking. entitled. useless. peices. of. this. They seem to somehow think that giving or even considering someone for a job is doing them a favour. Bitch, it is bad enough I have to let you make money off my labour, but don't you fucking act like that's you doing me a favour

Like, the day before yesterday I went to interview for a job and the recuiter gave me a mental arithmetic test under time pressure, and rejected me on the spot because my score wasn't high enough. do you know what that has to do with software development? ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL THAT'S WHAT. But they heard somewhere that it's A Good Idea™️ becase that's what Smart People™️ ©️ can do that Dumb People ™️ can't

Then there is the fucker I talked to today. This was actually for a friend from Iran (yes that Iran) abroad that wants to come and work in NL, but needs a work visum. so I call a dude about a job posting that matches her profile to ask if thatps a possibility. And then this dude goes on a rant "we already hired an Iranier 3 months ago and that cost us a lot of time. We want experienced people that can actally do the job and preferably know about the Dutch market"

So for those of you counting that is in like two sencences: 1. objectifying people like they are interchangable trading card games 2. thinly veiled xenophobia, 3. acting like an entitled elitist prick, and 4. rejecting someone with a job qualification while knowing litterally nothing about her because she just came out of a degree. A+ dude, such bullshit in so few words is impressive

and don't even get me fucking started on the whole chicken and egg problem around experience. Absolutely everyone wants people with experience, but nobody ever wants to give people the opportunity to get that experience. They just want the perfect job candidate to show up at their door step magically. Do they even know what experience means and where it comes from? and they say that millenials are entitled

hiring managers have 0 useful skills, expect perfect candidates just to show up, and feel like giving someone the privalige to be exploited is a god sent gift from them to the poor pleb approaching them begging to grovel under them. If that's not entitlement I don't know what is
