My YouTube feed is full of AI-generated music, what the hell :< The fact I listen to relaxing lofi beats is not a good reason to feed me slop, or is it?

Public

@nina_kali_nina I do not regret having downloaded my nightcore playlist years ago that I can now listen to, offline

online music systems are being poisoned

Public

@nina_kali_nina yep, mine is filled with AI generated space sexy dolls animations.
I mostly listen to music, watch Amiga-related and retro-computer stuff and I view science stuff...
That's a complete mess...

@allanon @nina_kali_nina when signed in, there is an option to turn off recommendations from the offending channel. It's in the three dots when yt shows the feed.

Public

@dasfrottier well, I've had two channels recommended so far, and I think it's just the beginning

Public
@nina_kali_nina I think background music (e.g. for work) is a valid use case for generated music. I'm not actively listening anyway...
Public

@nina_kali_nina there comes a time when it’s best to nuke your viewing history on YouTube.

Public

@nina_kali_nina I don’t think the algorithm is able to make value judgements

Public

@nina_kali_nina oh yeah, this is annoying... I've used YouTube loads for background tunez pre-"AI", and now it and my recommendations in that department are filling up with "AI" stuff... some of it is terrible, some seems OK (I'm not super picky about this stuff in the first place), and leaves me wondering how much stuff that doesn't disclose it is "AI" generated is "AI" now too. In a way I guess if I cannot tell a difference should it even matter? (It does matter to me, not least for environmental concerns about "AI".)
