As I've mentioned, NewDeal is an "online" operating system. It has PPP out of the box, and a 4kB sized Ethernet packet driver available online. The Ethernet driver works nicely with 3com509 card that is plugged into one of the ISA slots of this 286.

And that means? The Internets. Google loads, and is actually usable. It doesn't look like the browser supports advanced CSS, but some sites work. There is no SSL support, so majority of the web is a no-go land without a proxy. Sadly, the browser doesn't support Gopher isn't in the list of supported protocols. As far as I can tell, Browser isn't one of the apps that were open-sourced, so patching is out of the question.

Nice bonus: even if MediaViewer doesn't seem to support JPEG files, they can be opened in browser. It is a very big deal for a 286 machine.

Later version of GEOS has PDF viewer, but I couldn't run it on GEOS 3.2. It's a shame, it could have been one and only PDF viewer that can run on XT/AT machines.
