Hey. Signal rejected my PR to hide phone numbers.
This is obviously pretty weird, from a privacy standpoint. What if someone glances at your screen?
Anyway, I wrote a blog post about patching the Signal desktop app to hide phone numbers:

@half_cambodian_hacker_man Also announcing when people in your contact list join Signal. Same for Telegram.
I contacted them about this and was told that I could turn that off. But I was pointing out that anyone with *your* number can see when *you* join, which is not ideal.
