#introduction hey! i'm del, i'm trans + queer and i work in school IT as a tech/sysadmin. i also do some programming/data stuff and i'm trying to learn more! some of my other interests include neurodiversity and disability justice, opossums, crochet, native pollinators, and open-world video games. i have A Lot of Pronoun Feelings, but that said, ze/xe/it are all fine.
hoping to find some casual socializing and like-minded weirdos on here, and break out of my shell a little bit!
work~, covid adjacent
ughhh mostly I'm just really burnt out on remote support, tbh. stuff that would normally be kinda amusing is just frustrating these days. partly bc i'm in weird job limbo btwn frontline support and more focused sysadmin stuff, and have been for a while now.
i'm confident the full switch will happen eventually, but the entire IT dept is in weird reorganization limbo rnow, besides covid chaos, so its prob gonna be a while longer :/
work gripes, slightly uncharitable prob
and I think to a certain extent you can blame it on, "IT person's communication style usually meshes better w math and science teachers." but like, sometimes it really is not that, I shared like one barely technical bit of info with you, like, here is your password, and then I hear from you several days later saying it doesn't work (bc you were using the wrong password!)

For all my enby friends out there...
i think a fucking Phenomenally powerful trans experience is exploring things classically associated with ur agab from a transitioned space and i think it really fucking sucks that cis ppl (and an uncomfortable amount of binary trans ppl) make this something we're terrified 2 talk about because it will be used as evidence that we're fake trans
in case anyone was wondering, work griping but amused
which means that i, who have never done anything wrong in my life, ever, have to go into work today to let the network contractors into the building (possibly? probably? but w no specific timeframe), AND take The Small Dog to get shaved, AND somehow probably do a million Snowstorm Part II chores before the snowstorm hits tomorrow
in case anyone was wondering
this is what someone did at my work a long long time ago and now, many years and network expansions and mysterious unsolvable network issues later, the entire domain is getting rebuilt from scratch
@iconography my wife sent me this yesterday and I don't even know how it's possible but I *know* that somehow it's your fault
trans tech support possum is rummaging around under your porch and making a terrible racket
