Just discovered this *super* cool website: https://looseends.org/
Folks sign up as volunteer finishers to finish #FiberCraft projects for folks that can't finish themselves, due to death or disability or something. Sounds like an incredible way to gain experience with a craft while supporting your community in a really tactile way!
@chronohart I had the honor of finishing a crochet blanket for Loose Ends. It was an amazing experience and I was so glad to help. The project stretched my problem solving limits, and turned out beautiful.
@KBaileyBooks @chronohart I love the idea so much (but also as a beginner knitter I would be stressed out at the thought of so much responsibility)
@alicetragedy @chronohart It definitely puts pressure on you to get things just right. I am not sure I would have taken on the challenge if I weren’t super confident in my crochet skills.

The website states that they can easily move a project to another volunteer if you end up in over your head on something, though I obviously don't know how that actually goes in practice.
@chronohart @alicetragedy That’s true, while working on my project I had regular check-ins with the organization about how things were going and if I wanted to continue.
