Reminds me that I need to get the blog post finished before the panel is published to YouTube.

Slowly translating this pile of Terraform defining the Furality cluster to plain Kubernetes manifests, to hopefully let us move to something more native for Kubernetes Gitops. Thinking ArgoCD at the moment.

Good lord I just want to remember how much time to cook an egg for a don’t want to agree to your cookies, sign up to a mailing list, or have an autoplaying video ad covering 2/3rds of the content.

I hate the web.

What are people using for personal knowledgebases these days? Extra points for being able to self host the software.

Nothing quite like needing to run your bird to the vets an hour away on the hottest day of the year so far.

I’ve accumulated a ton of cruft and duplicate data in my backups… finally making an effort to go through and clear out a bunch of space.

Took a few hours but I’ve managed to migrate my Kubernetes (k3s) cluster from my Pi 3b to Pi 4b, and added the Pi 3b as a node, with my NAS as a backing store via NFS :3

Prettied up the README for the repo, and also added a link to a functional demo invite! git.sr.ht/~gmem/minecraft-serv

I’m actually writing tests for a personal project. Pretty sure this is unheard of.

Decided to bite the bullet and open source mc.gmem.ca. Enjoy.

It's not polished by any means, and I still have a little ways to go, but it's out there now :) git.sr.ht/~gmem/minecraft-serv

Finding a decent case for a home NAS is surprisingly difficult >.> Or one would work but it requires mostly proprietary drive caddys and you don’t have a 3D printer on hand

Tried to boot a Ubuntu live environment to test my monitor setup. Uh. This is new.

NAS owners! What are you using software wise to manage it?

Okay I'm soft-launching Minecraft Invites today, officially. Don't expect anything fancy, it's a beta (*mostly* bug free, *mostly* feature complete). Hopefully the UI is straightforward enough, although I know it can look a bit funky on mobile.

Put together a quick blogpost to share what my current infrastructure setup looks like. Infra is still somewhat a WIP, but it's coming along nicely! blog.gabrielsimmer.com/posts/c

A lot of my posts are written and published in the space of a few hours lol. I very much embrace the braindump methodology.

Been debating doing something similar in audio form, for the hell of it. Very rambley.

Should really get around to revamping my site slightly, making it more readable and giving it some minor JS augmentations. But whatever, text is good enough for now!
