The fundamental problem with how Cerritos College - and some other colleges - operate is that they run like businesses, not public institutions.

I get private colleges running like businesses - I don't agree with or support it, but I get it. But when a public institution, whose goal is to provide for the needs of its STUDENTS first, and its workers (faculty/staff) as well, it should not be:
- Censoring and restricting access to the Internet
- Violating the basic privacy of students and faculty with unnecessary actions
- Withholding access to state funded programs for "leverage"
- Intentionally doing everything it can to fight public records at requests
- Attacking the livelihoods of faculty and staff for no valid reason
- Trying to sever lines of communication

These are all things businesses do. That is the capitalist mindset. Colleges should not be doing any of that.
