Association President sent an e-mail to Lunduke.

Lunduke being the only source makes it untrustworthy, but they seem to double down on the forum [forum.openmandriva.org] and the 'WokeOS' shell mentioned below, is real and served from lindev.ch.

The e-mail (probably not in order or in full):

"We are, of course, a Linux based project (sadly, currently there's nothing else with the same level of hardware support), so we certainly use some code from the woke crowd - but in our own project, we're pretty much the opposite."

  • Bernhard RosenkranzerPresident, OpenMandriva Association

"We don't do DEI (or DIE, as we prefer to call it), we look at the quality of contributions rather than the views, gender or race of people trying to make them. We refuse to ban contributors for being conservative, straight, Russian or anything else considered a no-go in mainstream projects."

"We will most certainly not adopt the Contributor Covenant, work with Outreachy, or use any more rust cruft than absolutely necessary (sadly these days rust has invaded mesa, so it's getting harder and harder to avoid it altogether)."

"Since | think you may find it funny, I've attached the source for the "WokeOS" shell we've "developed" to where other OS projects seem to be headed. We're convinced it will soon be the default shell in Red Hat and Ubuntu. ;)"

If you are queer and will be attending , probably avoid this one fosdem.org/2025/schedule/event.

@GeopJr woof.... wtf did I just waste five minutes reading??

I think these ppl lose sleep thinking abt lgbtq+ folx..

Quiet public

@GeopJr The woke agenda is actually about memory safety! They're trying to take your segfault rights away!!!

Public

@GeopJr they are transparently not even pretending to make an insane strawman of another batshit insane strawman. I'm glad they're spending time on useless garbage in whatever safe spaces they have and not spam actual FOSS projects (yet).

Quiet public

@bee unfortunately (Open)Mandriva is a significant part of Linux history and the person who sent the email definitely joins our "woke people spaces" as noted by my last sentence linking to his FOSDEM talk :|
